The best way to finish your walk... with a Cuppa & Cake of course
Tucked between Antony Woodland Garden and the Woodland Walks is a quaint little stone cottage beneath a steep slate roof. With its gothic arches and latticed windows, its entirely evocative of fairies, pixies and all manner of things that would ordinarily belong in the pages of Grimms Fairy Tales.
Sympathetically restored in 2018, the cottage is now the home of our Vintage Tea-Rooms, Gift Shop and Vintage Boutique. Operating across two floors and a pretty little tea-garden, Broomhill Cottage offers a lovely selection of sandwiches and scones both sweet and savoury. Come and enjoy lunch or afternoon tea, buy an ice-cream or perhaps some fudge to take home. Because we source ingredients locally wherever possible, we are proud to be doing our bit for the local economy.
When you step inside, the first thing you’ll encounter is all manner of homemade cakes and scones, crowded together in a mouth-watering display that just screams ‘Eat Me!’ The vintage feel is further accentuated by a collection of upcycled tables and chairs. Food and drink are presented to table on an equally mismatched collection of fine bone china.
If you are planning a little celebration or just a get together for no particular reason, who doesn’t enjoy a traditional afternoon tea? Because we can, we’ll spoil you with a selection of finger sandwiches (crusts off of course), miniature cakes and homemade scones, jam and cream. Wash the lot down with a perfect cup of tea or if you prefer a steaming cup of Cornish coffee. You’ll need to tell us you’re coming for afternoon tea in advance. Call 01752 816639 for more information.
Here and there, sketches and watercolours decorate the walls. Once again, these and more are produced by clever local crafters. More importantly they are all for sale. If you pop upstairs to the Gift Shop you’ll find jewellery and scarves, handbags and purses, tea-cosies, cushions and more.
